In my own example, I will largely be using data collection as a way to gauge interest in students and to further find out how much education they have received about a specific field of history. In essence, I will use surveys in order to gather how much students have been taught and in what areas they may need improving so that I will be able to adapt my own teaching plan in order to better suit their needs. Since this will likely be on the high school level, I do expect my students to have some sort of background with history up until that point, including with social studies.
Quite frankly some of the most interesting topics that I have seen from other students blogs have to deal with using technology in order to help better educate students with special needs, and further about technology being applied in the classroom in order to better enrich the experiences of students. I feel as though much of the technology that I have seen being applied to teachers in utilitarian ways- helping with calculating grades and whatnot- are a bit trite. Meanwhile, it is genuinely exciting for me to see articles that describe how virtual reality is being used in order to enrich and educate students with special needs.
As for a technology skill related goal, I suppose actually being able to format a website would be something that I would be quite interested in- even coding the website, potentially, depending on how things go in the future. I only say this as I do consider myself to be someone with quite a solid grasp on how technology operates, and therefore I feel as though the next step would be to actually take a step back and create a website and learn how to code with HTML. Admittedly, this is something that would be quite tedious, and yet actually being able to see how things come together whenever you have arranged your code just right is a rather fulfilling experience.
